[:en]Since the 90′s, art has given me the freedom to travel over the ocean of my memories, permitting me to express my sentiments and through this, dig deeply into the vastness of human knowledge, knowledge wich has heled me to better understand the world that surrounds us.
For me art is a powerful form of communication, which I employ to make reflections and question the issues that we live in our contemporary society, the fears, the desires, the hopelessness, and the nonsense.
With my work, I seek to be a vector of change, collecting images that pertain to our collective memory and that, in certain form, make reference to painful events in the history of my country and the world.
I hope never to become inactive nor esthetically dead before the period in which we are living. I hope to react without fear in order to say what needs to be said in the moment in needs to be said. However, because of this, some, related to the infrastructures that make art a business, will try to curtail my freedom by censuring my work.
Over the last five years I have been working on different series of prints: ”Master Prints” and “Años de Miedo” / Years of Fear.[:es]Desde los años 90′s el arte me ha dado la libertad de viajar por el océano de mis recuerdos, permitiéndome expresar mis sentimientos y a través de él profundizar en el vasto conocimiento humano, conocimiento que me ayudará a comprender mejor el mundo que nos rodea.
Para mi el arte es una poderosa herramienta de comunicación, la cual empleo para reflexionar y hacer cuestionamientos acerca la problemática que vivimos en nuestra sociedad contemporánea, los miedos, deseos, desesperanza y el sin sentido.
Con mi obra busco ser un vector de cambio, recolectando imágenes que pertenecen a la memoria colectiva y que en cierta forma hacen referencia a los pasajes dolorosos de la historia de mi país y el mundo.
Espero nunca quedar inerte o estéticamente muerto ante el tiempo que vivimos. Espero reaccionar sin miedo a decir lo que se tiene que decir en el momento que se tiene que hacer, aunque por ello se trate de silenciar mi libertad por la censura de ciertas persona relacionadas con las infraestructuras que hacen del arte un “negocio”.

Master Prints
In this series of prints I appropriate and re-contextualize “Masterpieces of Art”, borrowing their compositional strategies and sometimes their titles, but inserting contemporary imagery with sarcasm and satire to create new works.“Master Prints”, una serie de grabados en los cuales empleo el proceso de apropiación, variación e intervención de “Obras Maestras”, usando en algunos casos sus títulos y estrategias de composición e insertándoles imágenes e iconos contemporáneos dentro de su contenido original, que muchas veces transgrede o contradice su significado original creando así una nueva obra de arte.
Años de Miedo
“Años de Miedo” (Years of Fear) is a Print Portfolio in homage to the victims of war, based on my memories and the collective historical memory of my country (Nicaragua) in the decades of the 70′s and 80′s. But, at the same time, this does not mean that it is limited geographically, because it is the reality in many countries at present.El Portafolio de Grabados “Años de Miedo” es un homenaje a las víctimas de las Guerras, está basado en mis memorias y la memoria histórica-colectiva de mi país (Nicaragua), en las décadas de los 70′s y 80′s. pero esto no significa que esté limitado geográficamente, pues es la realidad de muchos países actualmente.
